Michael Jackson

Yes, I know. I'm writing a blog about Michael Jackson, weird. And yes, I know, he got real strange in the last several years. But you have to understand. I grew up with him. Thriller was the first record I ever owned. I remember listening to it while having the record case with that fold out of him in the white suit w/the tiger propped up where I could look at it. He was the bomb back then. Yes I said the bomb. So cute back then. I'm sad. I read on wonderwall that Carson Daly said on Twitter he feels weird. Yes, weird, that's a good way to describe it. My sister said this is the first celebrity that has died that has truly touched her (Michael Jackson of all people lol), but she remembers the days of propping his album cover up too. And we all thought we were bad when we listened to Beat It, don't deny! I remember the when Princess Diana died, that was the first "celebrity" passing that really effected me. And this is sad too. So I know he was crazy and hasn't made good music in years, but his legacy will live on among the music scene....and the teeny boppers of the 80s...forever. RIP Michael.

A Day of Discovery

So this week was Christopher's Spring Break. I took off today and tomorrow to do some fun things with Christopher. We had originally planned on going to the zoo, but the weather didn't really cooperate. It didn't rain, but it was still a pretty damp and mildly chilly day, so we opted for the Museum of Discovery. NayNay got to come and none of us had ever been there. It was super neat. We got to see a show about electricity, and a play called "This Little Piggy Went to Market"-very cute. They also had a wonderful exhibit for kids six years and under-tons of neat things to do. I totally reccommend visiting the museum if you live around this area-I thought the admission price was extremely reasonable for all we got to do. We saw the two shows and spent a ton of time in the exhibit and still didn't get to see everything. Course that was mainly because we were starving by the time the play was over. So NayNay treated us to a yummy late lunch at Red Lobster. What a great day!

This is what we look like when we're tired and hungry

And....we're done.

A Lost Tooth and a Valentine's Day Party

Yes, yes. I know Valentine's Day was like over a month ago. Sue me. But first let's talk about this lost tooth. My boy lost his first tooth on January 4, 2009. It was very exciting! He got a dollar, since it was his very first tooth to come out. I told him not to expect that much for his next teeth..the tooth fairy's not rich ya know!

On another note, in February Chris had his kindergarten Valentine's Day party at school. Aunt Krissy got to come and it was lots of fun.

Daffodils

On Sunday after church, Christopher and I went with my dear friends, Amie and Jason, and their two little girls Caitlyn and Calista, to the daffodil fields at Wye Mounain. It was the first time Chris and I had ever been. It was a beautiful afternoon. An old friend of mine from school was meeting Amie and Jason their to take some family pics and she ended up taking some of Christopher and I too. I can't wait to see them, but for now here are a few I took.

Why is this kid hanging on me?

Chris, "Uncle J" and Cali

Great pic if my hair wasn't in the way!
Happy w/her animal cracker
Haven't quite got this flower thing figured out

Cait followed Chris everywhere

How cute is that face on her??

In response to me telling him to "be cute"

Cali fell asleep holding my finger. So sweet!

Through a Six Year Old's Eyes

So I came across these pictures and I had forgotten all about them. One morning back towards the end of October, I gave Christopher my cameral and let him take all the pictures he wanted between our house and school on the way to school one morning. I wanted to see what kinds of things he took pictures of and to kind of see through the eyes of a six year old little boy. Here are some of the ones I thought were kind of neat, and/or came out clear enough to post, lol.
