I AM DOING TIME FOR MARCH OF DIMES! Please help me improve the health of God's precious babies by helping raise $1000.00 for the March of Dimes. I am peacefully turning myself in to the Market Place Grill on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 12 p.m. Please help raise my bail so that I can get out of jail! Thank you in advance for the precious gift you are giving to thousands of babies! You can check out my website at http://jailandbail.marchofdimes.com/karenlovesbabies. I have to raise $1000 bail in order to get out of jail! This is and has always been my favorite charity. I can remember my mom doing the envelopes and sending them all over our neighborhood when I little. Thought I might be able to reach a few more people by posting this in my blog. Help me help babies!

Proof That God Helps Us Keep Our Sanity

Seventeen three and four year olds is what I averaged each night of Vacation Bible School this year. What a blessing, but whew...just the fact that I survived a week of that is proof that God indeed does help us to keep our sanity. It was such a joy to teach these wonderful children and plant seeds for Jesus. Exhausting yes, but entirely rewarding. I made some very sweet little buddies during my time teaching VBS. And of course I will do it again next year. (Only once a year...even more proof that God knows we have limits!)

The Joy of Pets

For a long time before we moved Christopher had been saying he wanted a rabbit. Well I talked him down to a guinea pig and after telling him we would get one after we moved into our new house, I broke down and got one about a month or two before we moved. At first his name was Henny. Then Christopher wanted to change it to Rocky. Well that didn't last because he kept forgetting to call him Rocky and kept reverting back to Henny. Well then all of a sudden he got the brilliant idea to call him Theodore from Alvin and the Chipmunks and that is the name that has stuck. We ended up getting a second guinea pig to keep Theodore company and of course Christopher named him Alvin (no pics of him yet though). I guess that means we'll have to get a third someday and name him...what else...Simon!

And then came the kitty. I had been wanting one for a long time. Christopher's Nana (his step-grandma) had gotten talked into taking a cat from someone she knew that had two and wanted to get rid of one. Well she's not the biggest animal person in the world, so she really decided she wanted to give it away if she could find it a good home. Which is where I came in! She already had everything we needed which cut down on the expense of getting a new animal. So now we have our Fiona, the rotten, spoiled, sweet princess. Does she get along with the guineas? Well...you decide.

Fourth of July

Well the Fourth of July was our first weekend in our new house & we had a blast. My friend Melinda, Krissy, and Krissy's friend Abby came over to celebrate w/Christopher & I. We just hung out & shot off a few fireworks when it got dark.
