Christopher's Big 0-6

I was so excited for Christopher's birthday this year because I was actually able to give him a birthday party at our house. I haven't been able to do that since his first birthday because the places we've lived have been so small. It was a fun day but very noisy & chaotic! He opened presents then we had cake & ice cream. It worked out nice because all the kids sat on the back porch & ate so no messes! Christopher's birthday theme, in case you can't tell from the pics, was John Deere. I got him a green & yellow cement truck pinata. Now that was hilarious to watch. Anyway, I think he really had a great time and since it was Daddy's weekend, Mommy got to crash after everyone left!

Brave Dr. Johnson

So One of the doctors I work for, Dr. Johnson, invited those of us with kids to come over to her house one evening in October to have dinner and decorate Halloween gingerbread houses. Boy she was a brave woman; I think she said in her blog that there were 13 kids there! We all had a blast though. Dr. J made the most delicious chicken tortilla soup and yummy "mummy" dogs that the kids just ate up. Then we all proceeded with the decorating. It got pretty messy! But the kids had so much fun. Can you tell Christopher kept licking the icing off his fingers lol! I'm so glad I got a picture of Christopher's house b/c when I tried to pick it up and put it back in it's box for us to take home & set out, I broke it! :( And only after I did this did I realize that I never even had to pick the house up in the first place-the cardboard inside the box came out so that all you had to do was set the house on it and then gently set it all back in the box. Duh. Oh well...at least we have the pictures and the memories! Thanks Dr. J!

To Dr. J

Ok Dr. J...if you happen to stop by my blog and notice it looks a little familiar...I copied!! Sorry, I couldn't help it...your background was sooo cute! Oh well, "they" say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! :)

First Day of School

My little boy has started Kindergarten. His first day of school went really good. I got to walk him in and take pictures. After school we met everyone at Neena and Daddy's and had a ice cream party to celebrate the first day of school. Chris and I goofed off in the car while waiting for everyone to get there. The first day wasn't so bad for me. I was kind of sad, but what was truly hard was the second day. The second day I dropped him off in front of the school and watched him trot in by himself, backpack on and ready to take on the world. That was so sad to me because he looked so little yet seemed so big at the same time and it was the first time I truly had to let him go "on his own". But we survived and he has been doing wonderful in school! He even got the character award of the month for respect. I had pictures of that but accidentally deleted them off my camera before I uploaded them! I was so upset!! There's one picture left and I may post it later. We have parent teacher conferences next week so we'll see how that goes. And a field trip to the pumpkin patch is coming up on the 24th which I am super excited about! I'll post more as things happen.

Kindergarten Camp

Before school started in August, Christopher's school did a Kindergarten Camp to let the kids check out their new school and teachers. They went for half a day that Monday through Thursday and on Friday they had a little cookout for the students and parents. Part of the purpose of the camp was to let the teachers see which students they interacted best with and who would be best suited for their different styles. One of the teachers told us that she loved having Christopher that week and that he had very good manners and was a very sweet boy. We were hoping he would end up with her as his teacher and he did! I took pics of him and his teacher on the first day and will show those in a separate post. Here are some from the cookout.

Moving In

So this is a pretty belated blog since we've already been her for three months but I wanted to post some pics of the finished house right before we moved in and of the day we moved in. My friends Amie and Jason helped soooo much. I don't know what I would have done without them! They have two precious little girls. Caitlyn turned two in July and she and Christopher are good buddies. She was enthralled with the guinea pigs, played monster trucks with Christopher, and they watched scooby doo together while we were getting stuff squared away. Even baby sister Cali got in on the monster truck action!
P.S. I have yet to figure out how to arrange photos and put captions on them once I've uploaded them on here and I am sooo irritted because when I uploaded these it just stuck them haphhazardly on here in no kind of order once so ever. I'm kind of anal about this kind of stuff, being an avid scrapbooker and all, so it's driving me crazy. But oh well, you get to see the pics and they pretty much explain themselves, so enjoy!
