Family Time

"Flaming Queso"

She looks like a little gnome :)

This pic is sooo cute of Zoe & Greg

The Friday that Kevin came home, we all hung out at mom and dad's and had pizza. Saturday night, Greg and I, Kevin and Trish, and Billy, Krissy and Zoe went and ate at Marketplace and then hung out at Krissy and Billy's for awhile. It was great! Sunday morning Kevin, Trish and Krissy came to church and then we went to lunch at Mazzio's and then that night had a bbq at mom and dad's. It was a wonderful homecoming weekend for Kevin and we are so glad to have him home!

Kevin is Home!!!

Kevin finally came home to us on April 25, 2008. The India Co. 23rd Battalion arrived at Camp Pike in NLR at around 3p.m. I didn't think I would get that emotional, but as soon as the buses pulled up I was boo-hooing. Krissy and I didn't think that we were going to be able to go to Camp Pike to meet him, but at the last minute we were both able to! We had a looong wait. Mom, Dad, Trish and her son and mom were there since noon. Krissy and I got there around 1:45p.m. DAD CRIED. Talk about sad, oh my goodness. But it was great! Just completely wonderful. Christopher did get quite impatient, but after he got a snack he was good to go again. We got some great pics and video. It is so awesome to have Kevin home and we got to spend a lot of time together with him and our family over the whole weekend. My brother is home!!

Waiting for Kev at Camp Pike

Christopher getting tired of waiting
...still waiting...

...and we're good now... the epitome of America...happy w/his snickers and flag!

Of Sheet Rock and Jet Tubs

We have walls! The first pic is the kitchen. The second pic is the living room w/the box ceiling . Then the tub, back of the house, and view from the garage. With Krissy living down the street you know she'll be in my tub all the time, just look at the pic!

It Looks Like a House!

Well, the house is really coming along! We still have a long way to go but wow! Christopher and I are so excited. And man do I ever thank God that Greg is with me. I can not tell you how much help he's been. He's made me think about things that I would never have thought about and I know my house is going to get buit right. The pic of Christopher is in what will be my closet and the bottom picture is the living room and the view of the backyard.

Easter 2008

We didn't do too much for Easter this year. Christopher and I went to church and then over to mom and dad's for lunch. Christopher had been dying to hunt Easter eggs from the time we woke up, so when we got to mom and dad's I hid some for him and he hunted them. Mom and dad have two dogs, and we couldn't let them out while Christopher was hunting the eggs, b/c last year the dogs gave away where all the eggs were hidded b/c they would run and sniff them before Christopher could get to them! Oh, and the thing Christopher is holding up to the camera is two crackers w/peanut butter and squeeze chesse in between. Yes. I said peanut butter and squeeze cheese. This from a child who won't eat a hamburger. Go figure. Well I hope everyone had a day full of blessings and that everyone took the time to remember why we truly celebrate Easter...the FACT that Christ is risen and lives today! Until next time...

Our Home

I just realized that I never did post that I got a new job. I am working for an ob/gyn office and I love it. It's always busy and never a dull moment. I love the girls I work with to pieces! Anyway, I am writing this particular blog to start the process of blogging our journey to our new home. We have been approved for our USDA loan and eligibility will be finalized sometime this week. Don't ask me what that really means, all I know is that the loan lady said I was eligible 100% and when it all gets finalized I will know what my monthly payments, etc. will be. On Friday when our office was closed, I went and picked out my wall, tile, brick, siding, and shutter colors. The color brick I chose ended up being the same as Krissy chose, so you can see it in one of the pics I posted here. This is the very beginning, from scratch. These pictures are of our lot. It's right down the street from Krissy and we can see her house standing in our yard. Christopher already picked himself up a little souvenir as you can see in one of the pics. A stake from the lot (that he probably wasn't suppose to take) that he used as a sword (0f course) to kill monsters on our little walk around the neighborhood. They are supposed to start building sometime this week, yeah! I'll keep you "posted" (lol...sorry I couldn't resist).

Snow Day

Well we had two snow days this week, the only snow so far this year and it's March! Tuesday my office opened at 1pm so we had the morning to play. Greg and Christopher had fun making "George" the snowman. That day is what the pics are from. Friday we were closed all day. I'm ready for Spring now. On another note, I am very excited to say that I am having a house built! Nothing fancy, but I'm getting a loan from the USDA Rural Development grant and Friday I picked out my brick, tile, carpet, and wall colors and they are supposed to start building next week. It will take about three months so hopefully in June we'll be movin in to our new home! It's right down the street from Aunt Krissy...Christopher will be able to just ride his bike over there. I can stand in our front yard and see Krissy's house. God is so awesome. He blessed us so much, even when we absolutely don't deserve it. Well, enjoy the pics of snow day. I'll be posting pics of the house as it gets built!
